In anticipation of the wedding showcase we are participating in this coming March 13th at Princeton’s famed Nassau Inn, we thought it would be a great opportunity to give some tips on which bridal shows are worth your time.
It seems as soon as the ring is placed on your finger you live and breathe bridal, but be sure to make the most of your time. More often than not, you walk into a large bridal expo and quickly find it can be overwhelming, but upon exiting you are absolutely underwhelmed by the experience.
You probably already have a good idea of what you would like your wedding to be like. Why go to a bridal showcase that will have disco balls and screaming DJs if that’s not your taste? We recommend focusing on events that will spotlight the things that interest you most and are most relevant to your overall wedding vibe. Be honest with yourself: you can’t attend every wedding event so zone in on what caters to you.
Local events are great if you are staying local because it will reveal some hidden secrets you may have never known about or thought of tapping into. Going local is the trend these days and often serves you best allowing you more control and involvement in your planning. Also, smaller bridal expos tend to only ask the best of the best vendors to participate as they are exhibiting a smaller group of services.
It’s always worth your time to make a trip to an event that might be held at a venue you are considering. Other than attending as a wedding guest in that venue, there is no better way to appreciate what they can offer.
Perhaps you have no idea of where to start, so a bigger bridal show might be more appealing as it gives a very broad range of options giving you lots to learn and consider. However, be warned as most brides will tell you that some of the larger shows have vendors who are not exactly focused on you and might not be too generous in the time they give you at the event which is definitely a turn-off.
The planning process can be overwhelming so why torture yourself by attending events that will only make it more so? Choose wisely where to spend your time and look for the elements you are searching for in the shows you attend.
Whatever you choose just remember stay focused, keep it fun and remember sometimes bigger isn’t always better.
